The recent DMEA conference in Berlin was a remarkable event, bringing together over 20,000 participants, almost 1000 exhibitors, and hundreds of vendors with a shared goal: improving healthcare outcomes. iMDsoft customers were excited to learn about MetaVision closed-loop medication capabilities and view intriguing demos of label printing, BeMP, and MMI CDS.
A common theme throughout the conference was the need for collaboration between products and solutions through integrations. This allows hospitals to leverage the benefits of comprehensive clinical information systems while also gaining unique value from specialized solutions and startup companies’ innovations.
Cloud deployments and AI innovations
At the show, we saw that cloud deployments continue to be a major interest in Europe, with vendors highlighting their cloud-ready solutions. It’s clear that clinical information systems will be deployed over the cloud, similar to banking services and other vertical markets – it is just a matter of time.
AI was a key topic in the sessions and vendor demos, showcasing its potential to revolutionize healthcare.
AWS certification and successful deployments
Show visitors were particularly interested in iMDsoft’s recent AWS certification and the successful deployment of MetaVision over AWS across 25 hospitals in NSW, Australia, running alongside Oracle Cerner. This certification highlights iMDsoft’s commitment to providing reliable and scalable solutions.
Oracle i.s.h.Med EHR replacement opportunities
One of the hot topics among EPR vendors was the need to replace the Oracle i.s.h.Med EHR solution, which has been declared end-of-life by 2027, with extended support until 2030. This presents significant replacement opportunities for EPR vendors. iMDsoft’s approach to this initiative was very well received and triggered new perspectives on the desired solution.
Deploying a replacement – whether it is a new EPR system by Dedalus, T-Systems, or CGM, or Oracle’s new web-based EHR system – will take time. Meanwhile, hospitals must not compromise on their most critical departments: the ICU and anesthesia operation rooms. The ability to perform quick deployments of MetaVision, a market leader in critical care PDMS (Patient Data Management System) featuring open standard FHIR interfaces, knowing that it will integrate with any EPR system that is selected and deployed over time, seems like a safe bet.
iMDsoft’s integration capabilities
iMDsoft attracted significant attention at the exhibition. Visitors were excited to learn about its successful PDMS deployments in over 100 hospitals across the DACH region, including some of the largest university hospitals and private chains. The integration capabilities built on industry standards enable hospitals to maximize benefits and return on investment.
Regional integration and innovative solutions
Many EPR vendors with hospital-wide solutions showed interest in integrating with existing regional MetaVision PDMS deployments in Germany and Austria. The fact that large hospital chains across Europe have been leveraging iMDsoft’s regional deployments for years makes it clear to EPR vendors that integration with MetaVision can help them present the value of their systems for the general wards of hospitals across the chain.
Summing up DMEA
The DMEA conference was a great opportunity for healthcare professionals to discover the new and innovative features of iMDsoft’s PDMS solution and for leading EPR vendors and cloud vendors to explore integration with MetaVision. We are excited about the tremendous potential to help take the healthcare industry to the next level.
